This 6000 square foot luxury and high tech condominium unit was extensively damaged by various water damage intrusion sources. Every room in this unit sustained some degree of damage. Exterior stucco siding which failed and interior plumbing leaks were the culprits in causing the damage. Exhaustive investigative work was performed to pin point the leak locations and the appropriate corrections were made. Custom high cost materials were the standard in this project. State of the art customized built-in electronics, custom cabinets, stone floors and countertops, gold (yes, I mean the precious metal) inlaid wallpaper, gold and brass fixtures, and various other custom items were all affected and included in the project work scope. Many items were saved, cleaned, and then re-installed.
Large amounts of mold were also discovered during the investigative process. A professional Industrial Hygienist was hired to assess and direct the mold remediation procedures. Critical barriers, Air Scrubbers and Negative Air Systems were a part of the process to ensure safety and success. We carefully followed the Hygienist's protocol until final inspections and approved clearance samplings were achieved. Once we achieved a mold free environment the re-construction then began. This one of a kind home provided many interesting challenges in the process and a true sense of accomplishment upon completion.

Water severely damaged this English Tudor style home located in Redmond Washington. While the owners were away on vacation, a fire sprinkler pipe burst in the attic area resulting in substantial damage to the ceilings, walls, and floors due to the time lapse between the initial pipe burst and the start of mitigation. It was quite a surprise for the homeowners to return to such a mess!
Finish components throughout the main floor of the home were repaired, restored, or replaced to match; drywall and insulation were replaced as needed, walls and woodwork were painted, painted faux finishes were replaced, hardwood floors and carpets were all replaced and the marble floors were refinished.
The study required complete replacement of the craftsman style birch and hemlock custom wall paneling. The paneling was installed as individual wood pieces and then custom stained and finished in place. The wood windows were stripped, stained to match and refinished. Granite countertops were also replaced in the study.
Below is an email we received from the customer after the repairs;
“Further to our meeting at our home last week, I have prepared a brief summary of the December incident and of Nordic’s outstanding performance.
My wife and I arrived home in December 2009 to find that a fire sprinkler pipe had burst and flooded the ground floor of our beautiful home. Walls, floors and a substantial portion of ceiling were ruined and the entire ground floor had to be replaced. We consider ourselves fortunate that our insurance company recommended Nordic as a main restoration contractor. Nordic performed the restoration work in a most diligent and proficient manner. The restoration involved a significant amount of custom wood work, custom plaster work and custom paintwork. The quality of the workmanship and the careful and attentive manner in which Nordic performed the work, was beyond anything that we could have hoped for. Nordic also did a particularly great job of matching the restoration work with the existing décor in our home. We would also like to extend our particular thanks to Nordic’s Foreman and Nordic’s painting specialist. ****. We now have a fully restored home and it is largely due to Nordic and Nordic’s fantastic efforts on our behalf.”

A letter of recommendation: For a complicated multi-family rehabilitation project, I think Nordic did a magnificent job. The superintendent executed design intent perfectly. Aesthetic intent was followed to the letter, including revisions and modifications. I would definitely recommend Nordic Construction Services.
